All Your Quilting Friends Want Thread for Christmas!

Have I mentioned lately that all your quilting friends

want thread for Christmas? I’ll bring it up again…

Hand Quilting Threads - use your favorites!

Hand quilting - what threads do you like?
Technically, you can hand quilt with anything. It just depends on the "look" you want for your project.
You can use a "glazed" thread that is pre-treated with a thread conditioner, or use a non-glazed thread and treat it yourself with a thread conditioner like Thread Magic.
Many quilters prefer a 40-weight cotton hand quilting thread:
YLI Select traditional hand quilting glazed thread
YLI 40-weight non-glazed thread
Aurifil 40-weight thread
Mettler 40-weight thread
King Tut 40-weight thread
Or something heavier?
Aurifil 28-weight thread
Sulky 30-weight thread
Or even heavier?
Aurifil 12-weight thread
Wonderfil's Spagetti 12-weight thread
Valdani #12 Pearl Cotton
Threadmongers has them all! Plus traditional Sashiko thread or use a 12-weight thread for your Sashiko stitching.

See all these threads plus MANY MORE at the Clark County Quilters QuiltFest Northwest October 21-23 or at the Block Party Quilters show November 12-14. Or PM me her to inquire! Yes, I mail thread orders all the time!

QuiltFest Northwest is coming soon! October 21-23

Yay!  The big improvement in COVID numbers has allowed some Western Washington guilds to proceed with their quilt shows!

Many guilds are not able to reschedule – largely because of issues pertaining to venues and time needed for preplanning.  So we are LUCKY that these PLUCKY guilds are gearing up for shows:

Welcome to Threadmongers!

Welcome to everyone traveling here from the Quilters Anonymous 2021 Online Quilt Show!

And welcome to everyone else!

I hope you enjoyed the fabulous quilts and I hope you are here because you love thread!

Threadmongers does not have a retail web site.  But you are encouraged to send me a list, via e'mail, of the threads you need and I will let you know what's in stock!  Just as I have been doing for the past 15 years as the Threadmonger, I carry the threads that quilters CRAVE for piecing, quilting, applique, embellishment, and fiber art!  Hundreds of color choices among 25 brands and 80 different products!

Prices are discounted from the manufacturer's suggested retail price.  I don't list them here but would be happy to send you details via e'mail.

Feel free to send me questions and your list of needs to:
judyjj@threadmongers.com

There is a list on this page on the right hand sidebar of threads I carry.  If I am out of a certain thread you need I can order it!

Right now I have a TON of 1300 meter spools of Aurifil in stock, as well as many of their 5900 meter cones.

Lots of King Tut in cones and a good selection of spools.

LOTS of Valdani pearl cotton in #8 and #12 sizes.

Wonderfil threads such as Invisafil, Deco Bob, Konfetti, Fabulux, and Spotlite!

Glide in cones and spools!

I'll post more photos here of fun temptations for you so check back often!

I sure miss being a vendor at our regional shows.  But I have lots of customers who order from me and who stop by my house in Sedro-Woolley and pick up what they need.

For those of you who reached this page without visiting the QA show, here is the link!  https://qavqs.org/

Thanks for coming to see the Threadmonger and let's have a GREAT quilting 2021!

2021 - MY "SCHEDULE" AND THE QUILTERS ANONYMOUS SHOW

Thread fans and friends,

We are still here and we are still quilting.  That's important right now - we are resilient and we know what to do when things get tough!  Be creative and generous.  Your reputation and legacy as quilters is so needed!

This is the time of year that I normally publish my quilt show schedule for the first six months.  All but one of the shows I look forward to are cancelled or suspended.

So I'm going to do the same thing I did during 2020!  Enjoy meeting my customers' needs from my home and pushing my way through my fabric stash!

Quilters Anonymous has developed a virtual show to replace their usual spectacular show at the Monroe fairgrounds.  They invite you to attend!  I know you all look forward to that one and this year it will be full of two years' worth of quilts!

March 12 to May 1, 2021

They also have a vendors' platform and I am on it.  So when you attend the show and roam around the vendors' postings, look for me!

Here's the show link:  www.QAVQS.org

If you want to shop in person, here in Sedro-Woolley, we will make arrangements.  I welcome all thread shoppers outside on my very large porch and we will wear masks, sanitize, and distance.

If you want to order thread to be mailed, just let me know and I will work with you to identify what you want and mail your order directly.

I don't have a retail web site.  I still have SO MUCH STOCK that I would do nothing but maintain the site, and I would rather quilt.  You can see the list of threads I typically have in the sidebar on the right and I can special order things for you.

Here's one thing to think about; I can put 12 spools of Aurifil in the smallest USPS Priority Mail box.  So if you're shopping for Aurifil, go together with a friend or two, and pay postage once.

I'm seeing an uptick in interest in the Wonderfil family of threads.  Invisafil, DecoBob, Master Quilter, Spagetti, Konfetti, Spotlite, Fabulux, Glamore, and others.  Ask about them!

Keep quilting!  I'm sure I'll "see" you at the Quilters Anonymous online show.  We have hope in 2021 that our ability to gather safely will be restored!  In the meantime, share your beautiful quilts virtually and inspire other quilters!
