2022 Skagit County Fair - my entries!

It's always fun to put a few entries in the fair!  People from all over come to see the quilting, sewing, and other fiber art entries even though they might not be sewists, themselves!  And little kids come to be inspired to become crafters - we love that!

Here are the pieces I entered - all were fun to make and even more fun to share.

"Etoiles avec des chats"

["Stars with some cats"]

From Krista Moser's "Vintage Windmill" pattern.
Yes, there are CAT fabrics sprinkled in this.  Plus some actual vintage fabric.

Best of Class!

"Wonderful Web"
Traditional spiderweb pattern that I drafted.
Foundation pieced on interfacing.
Quilted with a Baptist Fan pantograph.
Yes, there are cat fabrics in this one, too.

Reserve Best of Class!

"Summer Salute"
Again, from Krista Moser's "Summer Swag" pattern.
Red Ribbon
No cats in this one.

"Penguin Playtime"
Pattern from Quiltmaker Magazine Nov/Dec 2021
Blue ribbon.

A clothespin bag featuring kittens doing their mitten laundry
from a vintage embroidery pattern.
Bag design is my original, inspired by Laura Coia of Sew Very Easy.
Best of Class!

Threadmongers 1Q and 2Q schedule for 2022

As our pandemic restrictions ease, a little, quilt shows are coming back on line!  So nice to look forward to spending time among beautiful quilts with beautiful friends.  So here are some opportunities for you to find quilts and THREADMONGERS at regional shows in Washington.

But first, here are a few reminders:

These shows will follow the government's pandemic requirements in place for the date/location of the event.  This is to ensure your safety and the health of the community.

Bring your proof of vaccination, as it may be required to enter a public event.

Bring a good quality mask - bring two if you think you may want to change.

Bring a tote bag, just like you do to the supermarket.  Washington state eliminated single-use bags on October 1, 2021.

Bring cash to speed up your transaction.  Many venues have very slow Internet access for credit/debit card processing.

Here we go!
